Course Overview:

This qualification reflects the role of individuals with substantial experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their skills across a wide range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) functions. This qualification is also suited to the needs of individuals with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical ICT skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.

 

 

Entry Requirement:

- Be 18 years old or over

- Students who intend to enrol in this course must prove their successful completion of Certificate IV in Information Technology or have a minimum of 2 years experience in relevance ICT job role or completion of equivalence Australian high school certificate and pass essential knowledge entree test.

- Students must have good communication skills. Candidates whose English is not their first language may be required to prove their English language skills, which is equivalent to upper intermediate level (IELTS 5.5).

 

Pathway

After completing the ICT50715 Diploma of Software Development, students may articulate into continue their studies Advanced Diploma of Information Technology or even continue on Bachelor Degree programs offered by Australian Higher Education providers.

Delivery and Assessments

This program (ICT50715 Diploma of Software Development) is delivered in an institution based environment with face to face delivery. The mode of training is highly practical with a combination of practical projects, practical tasks, case study, tutorials, group activities and theory based documents.

 

Course structure: 

Duration: 40 tuition weeks. (50 Weeks include break)

The course consists of 16 units and is clustered into 4 groups in order to be delivered within 4 terms of full time study load. The term duration is 10 weeks.

Qualification Structure:

This course requires 16 units which consist with 10 core units and 6 elective units which selected from the electives lists (up to 3 units could be selected from any currently endorsed training package or accredited course).
